What is You on a Diet?

You: On a Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management is a low-fat weight loss plan written about by Mehmet C. Oz, MD and Michael F. Roizen, MD, both part of RealAge Inc. The company's flagship product  is the The RealAge Test which measures biological age versus calendar age.

How does You on a Diet work?

Saturated fats are limited to 4 grams per serving and all trans fats are avoided. Food servings with more than 4 grams of a simple sugar, such as high fructose syrup, should also be avoided. Foods high in fiber should be eaten regularly, especially in the mornings. The authors try to help you make eating good automatic with tips such as making two meals each day consist of the same foods while the third can vary. Also exercise should consist of at least 30 minutes of walking each day, no excuses.

What does research say?

While no studies could be found that tested subjects following this particular diet, the low-fat, low-sugar, high-fiber food recommendations are similar to the Mediterranean diet. A 2008 review of available research concluded there is evidence that the Mediterranean diet does combat obestiy.
